Parochial Church Councils and Parishes(PCCs)

It has come to our realisation that there is a paucity of qualified accountants and tax advisors who are also Christians dedicated to provide help and advice on the financial affairs of PCCs and parishes. It is our aim to fill in this gap in the marketplace.

For PCCs and parishes, the most pertinent regulation recently coming into force is the Church Accounting Regulations 2006, which requires PCCs to follow SORP 2005 and the Charities Act 1993 in preparing their annual reports and financial statements for accounting periods ending on or after 31 December 2006. The excepted status of PCCs has also recently expired and this means that some PCCs will need to register with the Charity Commission.

We can provide advice on the above in addition to those listed in the “Charitable Sector” information sheet. We can also provide help and advice on the following:
  • Preparation of accounts on the Receipts and Payments (R&P) or Accruals basis
  • Statutory requirements for teams, united benefices and pluralities
  • Accounting for the funds of PCCs
  • Completion of tax return for clergy
